What is the use of knowledge if it is not guided by values?
A brilliant mind without ethics can create problems, but a value-based mind builds a better world.
In today’s fast-moving world, students are learning many subjects, technologies, and skills. But the most important lesson is often forgotten — ethical values. These values shape our character, guide our decisions, and help us become responsible citizens.
What Are Ethical Values?
Ethical values are the principles that help us decide what is right and wrong. They guide our behavior in school, at home, and in society.
Some important ethical values include:
Honesty
Respect
Responsibility
Kindness
Fairness
Integrity
These values are like a compass that shows the right direction in life.
Example 1: Honesty in Exams
Imagine a student who finds the answers during an exam.
He has two choices:
Copy and get good marks.
Write honestly and accept the result.
If he chooses honesty, he builds self-respect and trust. Marks may fade, but character lasts forever.
Statement:
“Marks show your performance, but values show your personality.”
Example 2: Respecting Others
A student who respects teachers, parents, and classmates creates a positive environment around him.
For example:
Listening when others speak
Helping classmates who struggle
Speaking politely
These small actions show great ethical values.

Suppose you find a wallet on the school ground.
Keeping it may give temporary happiness, but returning it shows integrity and honesty.

నైతిక విలువలు అంటే ఏమిటి?
సరైనది – తప్పు ఏది అనేది నిర్ణయించడానికి సహాయపడే సూత్రాలను నైతిక విలువలు అంటారు.
ఉదాహరణకు:
నిజాయితీ
గౌరవం
బాధ్యత
దయ
న్యాయం
నిబద్ధత
ఈ విలువలు మన జీవితానికి దిక్సూచి లాంటివి.
ఉదాహరణ 1: పరీక్షల్లో నిజాయితీ
పరీక్ష సమయంలో ఒక విద్యార్థికి పక్కవారి జవాబు కనిపిస్తే:
కాపీ చేసి ఎక్కువ మార్కులు తెచ్చుకోవచ్చు.
నిజాయితీగా రాసి తన సామర్థ్యాన్ని చూపవచ్చు.
నిజాయితీని ఎంచుకుంటే అతనికి ఆత్మగౌరవం మరియు విశ్వాసం పెరుగుతుంది.
వాక్యం:
“మార్కులు మీ ప్రతిభను చూపిస్తాయి, కానీ విలువలు మీ వ్యక్తిత్వాన్ని చూపిస్తాయి.”
ఉదాహరణ 2: ఇతరులను గౌరవించడం
గురువులను, తల్లిదండ్రులను, స్నేహితులను గౌరవించడం ఒక గొప్ప నైతిక విలువ.

ఉదాహరణ 3: పోయిన వస్తువును తిరిగి ఇవ్వడం
పాఠశాలలో ఒక పర్సు దొరికితే దాన్ని మన దగ్గర పెట్టుకోవచ్చు.
కానీ యజమానికి తిరిగి ఇస్తే అది నిజాయితీ మరియు నిబద్ధతను చూపిస్తుంది.
విద్యార్థులకు నైతిక విలువలు ఎందుకు అవసరం?

సమాజం మెరుగుపడుతుంది
ప్రతి వ్యక్తి విలువలు పాటిస్తే సమాజం శాంతియుతంగా ఉంటుంది.
స్ఫూర్తిదాయక ఉదాహరణ
మహాత్మా గాంధీ గారు సత్యం మరియు అహింస అనే నైతిక విలువలను ప్రపంచానికి చూపించారు.
ఆ విలువలు భారతదేశ చరిత్రను మార్చాయి.
విద్యార్థులు పాటించాల్సిన చిన్న అలవాట్లు
ఎప్పుడూ నిజం మాట్లాడటం
పెద్దలను గౌరవించడం
సహాయం చేయడం
నియమాలను పాటించడం
బాధ్యతగా ఉండటం

నమ్మకం పెరుగుతుంది
నిజాయితీగా ఉండే వారిని అందరూ నమ్ముతారు.

సరైన నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకోవడం నేర్పుతుంది
కష్ట పరిస్థితుల్లో కూడా సరైన మార్గాన్ని చూపుతుంది.
